Kellie Martin is an American film, television and stage actress. Her most well-known roles include Christy Huddleston (Christy) in the period drama Christy'; Rebecca Thatcher (Life Goes On); and Lucy Knight ("ER") in the medical drama ER". She is also known for appearing in the titular role in the "Hailey Dean Mystery" series. Martin was born to a department store purchaser and kindergarten teacher began her career acting at the age of seven, when her aunt, who was an nanny for Michael Landon's children was able to help Martin get a part in the 1982 series "Father Murphy". After she graduated from Yale University in 1982, Martin began to take her acting profession more serious. Her roles were significant on TV as well as on the big screen. Martin is, in addition to being a skilled dancer and actress, is also a successful ballet photographer. Martin's sister, who died of Lupus at age 19, led her to becoming the Lupus national spokesperson.
